Breaking all the rules
The rules of fashion die here. Fashion is all about the freedom of expression through clothing. So why should you follow a dress code that keeps you limited? I’ll show you how to break some of fashions biggest no no’s and silence the critics. Because after all, some rules are meant to be broken.
Wearing two different patterns at once has always been considered a fashion error. And though there are wrong ways to wear it, that doesn’t mean it is impossible. When wearing two bold patterns at once it is crucial to let one be the dominant pattern. Patterns are like solo artists, they attract the spotlight. So playing one up, and playing one down, prevents a power struggle in your outfit. Also, make sure your two patterns share some common ground. Rather it’s color, line, or fabric, some cohesion is necessary to make your two patterns look as though they belong together.
Open toe shoes are often the most criticized as a winter fashion. The fashion rule once said that open toe shoes were not to be worn in the winter time. But as we see a lot in fashion, people are now finding new ways to wear winter clothes in the summer, and summer clothes in the winter. So although open toe shoes were meant to be worn in the summer time, pairing that same shoe with tights, makes them winter friendly. Tights are a perfect way to show off your shoes without stealing the spotlight. Now there is no reason a fabulous open toe shoe can’t be worn all year round.
In life it sometimes seems like you can only have one thing or the other, but not in fashion. So if you’re feeling a little indecisive and you can’t choose between gold or silver, don’t worry, you can have both. Despite the fashion rule against it, old and silver actually go very well together. Like with everything in fashion there is a right way to do it. Unlike wearing two patterns at once, giving one metal dominance over the other in an outfit makes the lesser worn metal the black sheep. Different colors metals can work well together when they are used in your outfit equally.
