Brow Tips: By Persuade
Eyebrows are nothing more than a patch of hair above your eye. Wrong! The grooming of ones eyebrows can completely alter an appearance. A thick uni-brow gives off a negligent look while well arched brows give off a clean, attractive one. Here are a few tips on how to do your best brow:
It is first important to decide how you’d like your brows to be. Some go for thin, while others like a thicker brow that tapers off towards the end.
The thicker eyebrows are best obtained by using a razor; it gives you full control of how much or little hair you remove. Let’s get started!
The best eyebrow arches are unique to each face. Hold a pencil, ruler, or other straight edge vertical against your nostril. Where the end falls is where your eyebrow should begin. Use a light colored eye shadow or liner pencil to mark that point. Tweeze or use a razor to remove any hairs outside of that line.
Next, hold your straight edge diagonally with one end touching your nostril, and the other aimed at the end of your pupil (do NOT poke your eye out). Draw a line or tick mark across your brow at that point: this is where your arch should be.
The last point in the process involves knowing where the brow should stop. Hold your edge against your nostril and aim it towards the end of your eye. This is where your brow should taper and end.
When using a razor, be sure to be gentle, as to avoid accidental cutting. Apply Vaseline or lotion to the skin to avoid using the razor on dry areas, creating a smooth, slick surface. Always shave in the direction the hair grows to avoid any bumps or unevenness when the hairs grow back. Don’t worry about making mistakes. Brow pencils or even eye shadow can do the job of filling in any gaps in those brows! Do not use BLACK! Black or any very dark filler will make your eyebrows look too sharp and unnatural.
Because you do have full reign of how your eyebrows turn out, remember to make them look as close to natural as possible. A pointed arch or a sharp blocked beginning will make you look like a jack-o-lantern. So follow these tips and enjoy your new look!
