Hip Hop Fashion

Popular culture has always been the main influence in men’s street fashion. Artists have the money, the cars, the girls; the least we can do is mimic their image and get one step closer to their level.

Back in the 90’s and early 2000’s, hip hop style was defined by baggy jeans, wife beater shirts, a gold grill and long shiny chains.

Today a completely different picture is painted. Thanks to artists like Kanye West, men’s style is more “clean cut”, including blazers and sports jackets, fitted, not baggy jeans, and loafers.

On the other end, artists like Wiz Khalifa don snapback caps, tank tops, not wife beaters, skinny jeans and Vans.

The change in style is not only refreshing, but it’s mother approved and significantly more affordable. The days of paying hundreds of dollars for a mouthpiece and chain are over.

Ok, so blazers can be a bit pricey. But consider how much cheaper they are in comparison to diamond studded grills. So thank the artists of today for making a new fashion statement. The ladies love their clean cut men, and your wallets certainly do approve.
