QUEEN OF DESERT STORM RADIO

Desert Storm Radio is a social network of DJ’S put together by world famous DJ and producer DJ Clue. Desert Storm reaches from coast to coast. Each DJ has their own time slot and rocks it for their region, while still being heard throughout cyberspace by anyone with a laptop or smart phone. Clue has made sure to cover all types of genres of Hip Hop as well as employ diverse personalities. One such personality is Tampa Mystic. Not just a member of the Desert Storm family, Tampa Mystic handles marketing and promotions for her region, not to mention several other side projects that have kept her name buzzing in the ears of record labels the last few years.  A quick search on DATPIFF.COM, and you can see her name attached to several up and coming artists as well as some veterans such as WARREN G.

Persuade was able to speak to her and find out how she started and what she has on her plate.

PERSUADE: How did you link up with DJ CLUE’S DESERT STORM RADIO?

TAMPA MYSTIC :  Good friend of mine DJ Short-e whom I have hosted several artists’ performance events with introduced me to the DSR team. I pay homage to Short-e for making this connection!

PERSUADE:  Before DESERT STORM, did you have any Djing experience?

TAMPA MYSTIC: Yes, but not too much. I’ve owned my own radio show [Underground Radio Flow] for about a year, most of which I have been a ‘radio host’ but earlier this year I stepped my game up and invested in DJ equipment and have running hard with it since. I believe in having more than one hustle – I love what I do and enjoy learning new crafts and mastering them. I have to give special thanks to DJ Clue, DJ Culture & Ceas - these are the men behind DSR.

PERSUADE:   Aren’t you also doing Marketing and Promotions for Desert Storm, as well as your own company?

TAMPA MYSTIC:I sure am! Desert Storm Radio is a major platform backed by some of the biggest DJ names in the industry. Having 9 years marketing experience I’m helping DSR get their name out to the masses. I also own a promotional company, Mystic’s Entertainment. We offer Viral promotions/marketing, radio interviews, magazine write ups/interviews, a full line of graphic and web design, custom apparel, along with mix tape hosting.

PERSUADE:   If I go to DATPIFF.COM and hit a search for your name, several mix tapes come up. How did you get involved in the mix tape game and HOSTING them? 

TAMPA MYSTIC: I’ve been part of the Cool Running DJs / Team Bigga Rankin for about a year. Working with them and doing PR work for independent artists, dropping mix tapes is a great way to get my name and the artists name out to the masses. It’s also a great platform for these artists who are really grinding to have their music heard.

PERSUADE: Are there any artist that you’re working with now that you think we she be on the lookout for. ?

TAMPA MYSTIC: Definitely! S.H.A.H CYPHA, Jody Floyd & Pretty Boi J. These 3 gentlemen are very different from each other in their style of music, but all equally as great. Anyone interested in hearing/supporting their music can contact me at tampamystic@gmail.com

PERSUADE: Where do you see your career in 5 years?

TAMPA MYSTIC: Wow – EXTREME! I recently developed a saying: “I’m only 2 years into the game, but positioned like I’ve been in 20” I’ve been extremely blessed with an amazing support team. One thing I have learned, if you want to be recognized in this industry…do work! Stay in your own lane and grind, grind, grind! Remaining humble and staying relevant is important as well. There are a million haters who love to see people fail, so it’s mandatory to stay on your game.

In 5 years, I want TampaMystic to be that woman everyone wants to work with and a name everyone loves.

PERSUADE:  You are definitely on the Grind; I really appreciate you talking to me.  Since I know you’re constantly working, is there anything you want to plug right now. FLOOR IS YOURS. 

TAMPA MYSTIC: I appreciate you! It’s opportunities like this that help keep me relevant.
